Lizzy Clark is a young actress with Asperger's Syndrome and the first person in the UK to play a character in a major TV drama with the condition. She had never acted professionally before when she got the part of Poppy in "Dustbin Baby" in August 2008. The International Emmy award winning film is a BBC/Kindle Entertainment co-production.
In her life Lizzy has overcome bullying due to lack of understanding of Asperger's Syndrome yet she remains positive. " I don't see my Asperger's Syndrome as a problem that's just other people's ignorance. I have some really good friends now who understand me. Hopefully I'm helping to bring understanding of the condition to more people. I love acting it's definitely what I want to do."
